FRIDAY HOOFER HIKES

Big Bald
We start at Sam’s Gap on I-26 and hike to Big Bald and return.
Big Bend Falls
Starting at Burrell’s Ford Road in SC, this round tripper takes us to the Chattooga River with trips to King Falls and Big Bend Falls.
Black Balsam Devil's Courthouse Loop
From NC215 we take the MTS, Little Sam, Flat Laurel Creek to Sam Knob Parking then the Black Balsam Spur, Art Loeb and MTS to Black Balsam and hike the parkway and NC 215 down to our cars.
Black Mountain Down
From Pink Beds to the Black Mountain Trail, we proceed over the Black Mountain Trail to the Maintenance Shed (near Ranger Station)
Black Mountain Up
From the Maintenance Shed (near Ranger Station), we proceed over the Black Mountain Trail to Pink Beds.
Cantrell Creek Loop
South Mills River and Cantrell Creek trails from Turkey Pen parking to Laurel Gap for lunch, exiting via the Mullinax and South Mills River trails to our cars.
Cedar Rock
Starting from the Fish Hatchery, going clockwise this hike can go on either side of Cat Gap and then onto and up and over Cedar Rock and down the other side to complete the big loop.
Funnel Top 11
This starts at the Gaging Station at the end of FS476 off of Yellow Gap Road and follows unmarked trails and a bushwhack over the four peaks of Funnel Top and returns via FSR 5018, the Horse Cove Gap Trail, the Squirrel Gap Trail, and S.Mills River Trail.
Funnel Top 8
This starts at the Gaging Station at the end of FS476 off of Yellow Gap Road and follows unmarked trails and a bushwhack over the four peaks of Funnel Top and returns via FSR 5018, the Horse Cove Gap Trail, the Squirrel Gap Trail, the Rigby Cutoff and S.Mills River Trail.
Funnel Top Above Us
This starts at the Gaging Station at the end of FS476 off of Yellow Gap Road and [this is going to be a hike TCH proposes as an alternative for the next Funnel Top, for those who do not want to go over the Funnel Tops].
Jones Gap
An extended hike over the Jones Gap and other trails in South Carolina.
Moore Cove & Coon Tree
We drop a shuttle car at the Coon Tree trailhead, take the Moore Cove trail to the Bennett Gap Trail and exit via the Coon Tree Trail.
Wilds, The
We go to Lake Jocassee and return. The 1000 steps that we go down will still be there when we come back up! This is a tough climb out with a rope and one should be fit for this hike. On the way back we will visit a falls.
